To push a commit using GitHub Desktop, follow these steps:

Open GitHub Desktop: Launch the GitHub Desktop application on your computer.

Select the Repository: In GitHub Desktop, select the repository you want to work with from the left sidebar. If the repository is not already added, you can click on "Add" and select the local repository from your file system.

Commit Changes: Make the changes you want to commit to your repository using any code editor or IDE of your choice. After making changes, open GitHub Desktop.

Stage Changes: GitHub Desktop will automatically detect the changes you made. In the "Changes" tab, you will see a list of files with checkboxes. Check the boxes next to the files you want to include in the commit.

The checked files are staged and ready to be committed. The unstaged changes represent the modifications that you have not yet included in the commit.

Write Commit Message: Enter a descriptive commit message in the "Summary" field. The commit message should briefly explain the changes you made in this commit.

Commit: Click on the "Commit to main" (or "Commit to master") button at the bottom of the window. The branch name may vary depending on the default branch name of your repository.

Push: After committing the changes, the commit will be saved in your local repository. However, it's not yet available on GitHub. To push the commit to your remote GitHub repository, click on the "Push origin" button at the top of the GitHub Desktop window.

This action will upload your local commits to the remote repository, making them accessible to others and visible on GitHub.

Authentication (if required): If you haven't authenticated your GitHub account in GitHub Desktop, it will prompt you to do so during the push process. Follow the instructions to log in or authorize the application to access your GitHub account.

That's it! Your commit has been pushed to the remote repository on GitHub using GitHub Desktop. You can now view the commit and its changes on the GitHub website or continue working on your project, making more changes and commits as needed.
