Lecture 275:- Connecting to MongoDB using mongoosejs

To connect to MongoDB using Mongoose.js, you can follow these steps:

  1. Install Mongoose.js using npm:

Copy code

npm install mongoose

  1. In your Node.js file, require Mongoose:

javascriptCopy code

const mongoose = require('mongoose');

  1. Connect to your MongoDB server using mongoose.connect() method:

phpCopy code

mongoose.connect('mongodb://localhost/mydatabase', { useNewUrlParser: true });

In the above code, you need to replace mydatabase with the name of your database.

  1. You can listen to the connected, error, disconnected, reconnected events to know the status of the connection.

javascriptCopy code

mongoose.connection.on('connected', () => {  console.log('Mongoose connected to db'); }); mongoose.connection.on('error', (err) => {  console.log(`Mongoose connection error: ${err}`); }); mongoose.connection.on('disconnected', () => {  console.log('Mongoose disconnected'); }); mongoose.connection.on('reconnected', () => {  console.log('Mongoose reconnected'); });

With these steps, you should be able to connect to your MongoDB server using Mongoose.js.
