Lecture 369:- Social Authentication - How does it work

Social authentication, also known as social login, allows users to authenticate on a website or app using their social media accounts instead of creating a separate account on the site.

Social authentication works through the use of OAuth (Open Authorization) protocol, which enables users to grant permission to third-party applications to access their social media data without sharing their login credentials. Instead, users authenticate directly with the social media provider, which then sends an access token to the application that the user is trying to access.

The access token can be used to make requests to the social media API on behalf of the user. This way, the application can use the user's social media profile information to create a new account or login the user without asking for a separate password or email.

OAuth is used by many social media platforms such as Google, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and more to allow third-party applications to access their users' data securely.
