Lecture 23:- Special Characters

In HTML, certain characters have special meaning, such as the angle brackets (< and >) that define HTML tags. To include these characters as plain text on a web page, they need to be "escaped" using HTML character entities.

Some common HTML character entities include:

 • < for the less-than symbol <
 • > for the greater-than symbol >
 • & for the ampersand &
 • " for the quotation mark "
 • for a non-breaking space
 • © for the copyright symbol ©

A full list of HTML character entities can be found in the HTML specification or online resources like MDN Web Docs.
