Lecture 228:- The Terminal
The Terminal is a command-line interface (CLI) tool that allows you to interact with your computer's operating system by typing text commands. It is a powerful tool that can be used for a wide range of tasks such as navigating files and directories, installing software, and running scripts.
The Terminal is available on most operating systems, including macOS, Linux, and Windows. On macOS, you can find the Terminal application in the Utilities folder of the Applications folder. On Linux, you can typically launch the Terminal from the Applications or Accessories menu. On Windows, you can use the Command Prompt or PowerShell as a terminal.
Once you have launched the Terminal, you can use it to navigate the file system, run commands, and execute scripts. You can navigate the file system by using commands such as cd (change directory), ls (list files), and mkdir (make directory). You can run commands by simply typing them in and hitting Enter. You can execute scripts by specifying the script name and its location.
The Terminal can be intimidating at first, but with a bit of practice, it can become a powerful tool for getting things done on your computer. There are many resources available online to help you learn how to use the Terminal, including tutorials, videos, and forums.
