Lecture 296:- Explaining Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on a user's computer or device when they visit a website. They are used to store information about the user's activity on the website, such as their preferences, login details, or shopping cart contents.

Cookies are sent by the server to the user's browser, which stores them and sends them back to the server with every request made by the user. This allows the server to identify the user and provide a personalized experience.

Cookies can be either session cookies or persistent cookies. Session cookies are stored temporarily and are deleted when the user closes their browser, while persistent cookies are stored for a longer period of time and are used to remember the user's preferences across multiple sessions.

Cookies can be set and managed through the HTTP headers sent between the server and the browser, and they can also be manipulated using JavaScript. However, cookies have some limitations and security concerns, such as the potential for third-party tracking and the risk of sensitive information being intercepted or stolen.
