Lecture 154:- Timing Events

Timing events in JavaScript allow you to execute a block of code after a specified amount of time or at a specified interval. There are two types of timing events in JavaScript: setTimeout and setInterval.

The setTimeout function is used to execute a block of code after a specified time delay. It takes two arguments: a function to execute and a time delay in milliseconds.

For example, the following code will execute the alert message after a delay of 1000 milliseconds (1 second):

javascriptCopy code

setTimeout(function(){  alert("Hello, World!"); }, 1000);

The setInterval function is used to repeatedly execute a block of code at a specified interval. It also takes two arguments: a function to execute and a time delay in milliseconds.

For example, the following code will repeatedly execute the alert message every 1000 milliseconds (1 second):

javascriptCopy code

setInterval(function(){  alert("Hello, World!"); }, 1000);

It is important to note that using timing events can affect the performance of your JavaScript application. It is best to use them sparingly and only when necessary.
